Tomorrow’s edition of Scandinavia’s largest newspaper – Aftonbladet – will carry an interesting comparison that Charlotte and I contributed to. You’ll find our story in the travel section of the printed edition.
I just read (online) in that same paper that recent research provided by a Swedish scientist points out that in most cases, buying huge amounts of food, something that most families do once a week, is not so smart after all. According to the findings, a lot of the food bought is never eaten and actually ends up rotting away in the fridge drawers – along with any savings that may have been made through purchasing in bulk.
Well, that’s a relief. Since we are proud members of the small but enthusiastic non-automobile owning community here in Malmö, we rarely, if ever, have to deal with weekly visit to hypermarkets, super stores or mega malls.
