Passion for Communication

Creative strokes

Some of my writing assignments involve creating communication that will eventually be translated into other languages. Languages that more often than not need more words to convey the same message than when written in English.

Writing for other languages takes a fair share amount of time. And weighing every single word, sentence and paragraph is part of the craft of writing that I enjoy.

The same goes for photography. At least when it comes to assignments. Composition, colour balance and focus can surely be adjusted in postproduction. But the main objective is always to communicate something, be that an emotion or a location, and it will always be interpreted in as many ways as there are viewers.

Elle has taken a healthy interest in communicating her creativity – both visually and verbally. As someone that makes a living from doing just that, I can only hope that her passion grows and that she one day decides to pursue a similar career, be that as a writer, singer, architect, photographer or why not a painter. Time will tell.

The photo above was shot at an artist’s home in Österlen. Seeing the brushes, the paints and the huge canvases had a very suductive effect on my creative soul. I hope someday soon to be able to once again paint. Again, time will tell.
