Ulfsunda Castle

I’ve now checked into one of my favorite hotels – anywhere. Yes, in my book, Ulfsunda Castle is one awesome place to stay the night. Each of the 54 rooms are individually designed and have all the comfort and technical facilities I have come to expect from the hotels I choose to stay at. In addition, Ulfsunda Castle has employed a team that seems to both enjoy their work and take pride in excelling at it. Not a very common combo in my humble opinion.

I got here at about six in the evening, checked my email (on suite Net access included) and went out for a 10 km run around the castle grounds and a nearby lake. It wasn’t a record run by any means. Still, the humidity in the air was perfect for an hour on the pavement and the greenery this time of year is amazing. It was as if I was breathing pure chlorophyll.

After my run I had a quick shower and walked across the castle grounds to enjoy dinner at the artfully decorated restaurant. I ate a scrumptious veal meal worthy of writing home about – which, in fact, I just did.

Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be grey, grey skies. Not ideal by a long shot. If the sky won’t let up, I’ll have return when the sun does.
