Airborne over Malmö

Already September? What happened to August? July? Not sure if I’m comfortable with the months passing by as fast as they’ve done this year. Not that they haven’t been more or less filled with interesting happenings. But still. If nothing else, Elle is growing up way too fast. Please slow down!

Like most days of the week, today is also a work day – albeit a little calmer than during the average weekday which is usually sprinkled with calls, emails and snail mail – all craving my immediate attention. And after our excursion to the south coast yesterday, I feel comfortable about putting in a few billable hours today.

September marks the start of a new business year for our company. So getting off to an early start makes, well, good business sense. Like I say, its not a job, its a pleasure…

Part of today will be spent down by Stapelbäddsparken. I’ve officially started documenting what’s going on there for the new book project. Elle and I were there for a quick peek yesterday evening as Charlotte was shopping at the supermarket. Bob Dylan over the PA. What a contrast.

Contrasts like that are just part of the mystic surrounding skateboarding. Undefinable defiance. All very serious stuff. Skateboarders obviously dig what they’re doing. Some are probably even bursting with joy. But show it physically? Share a moment with a smile, a laugh or hug? No way. Now that’s both socially interesting and photographically intriguing.

By the end of the month, I’ll be done and have a huge collection of photos from the park. Enough for at least the first book. Probably two.
