GT4

All over Manhattan the signs were huge, the radio spots lengthy and the riveting hype surrounding the highly anticipated action packed computer game “Grand Theft Auto” was nothing less than ginormous. The PR spin drowned everything else – including the new flick “Ironman”, which got lost in all the GT4 noise.
I’m the first to admit that computer games don’t do it for me anymore. I’ve played my share of RPG and shoot em’ up titles. Duke, Redneck Rampage, Halo, Unreal, to name a few old ones. But since becoming a parent (and to some, this will most definitely sound super corny) the violence just turns me off. It’s not like we don’t already have enough stories to explain to our daughter (like Engla and Fritzl) to keep us in astonishment and reassure that life generally outplays fiction tenfold.
So, we’re fairly restrictive when it comes to computer games in our home. Mindful, you might say even. There are, after all, a bunch of none violent games out there. And blowing things up, shooting people down and learning how to choose the most effective (and lethal) virtual weapon to help earn points, is not just pointless, its also not on our list of things we think Elle should focus on.
Here’s a trailer from the game.
Here’s a review of the game in Swedish.
