Igår var Andy, Charlie och jag och badade mitt i Öresund. Det var vindstilla och vattnet var varmt och kändes härligt mjuk. Simningen hade föregåtts av en god middag vid Dockan och följdes av kaffe och ett par glas Sambuca. Kanske en av de bästa kvällarna i Västra Hamnen. Någonsin.

Är lite trött idag efter en blöt kväll på sjön igår. Att man skulle bli kreativt inspirerad av att vara lite “dagen efter” stämmer. Detta utifall att någon nu trott att det bara var en myt.

Tidigt imorse tog jag och HJ ett schysst morgondopp med svanarna. Öresund låg stilla som en skogsjö och vi delade bryggan med bara några få andra livsnjutare. Det finns betydligt sämre sätt att börja dagen på. Hinner nog med ett par dopp till idag.

Igår såg vi vännen Martin Lorentzson med medmusikanter lira några av plattans pärlor unplugged vid Dockans Dag. Inget ont om Andreas Sjögren (från Idol) som uppträdde efter honom. Han har ju en rätt bra röst, killen. Men att ta betalt för att sjunga karoke-musik inför publik tycker jag inte man skall göra nykter. Särskilt när flera av låtarna var pinsamt dåliga redan vi originalinspelningen.

Woke up super early this morning and headed out for long jog around the Western Harbour. Hard to believe how many people will invade the area in just a few hours. Jumped into the ocean before retuning home to clean up the loft before the cleaning lady showed up.

Today I’ll continue compiling sets of photos from around the world – starting with a completely new collection of images from the Western Harbour.

Good friend Martin Lorentzson and band will be playing at Dockan tonight and I’ll be there shooting the show.Charlotte and Elle are enjoying beach life at Vejbystrand. I’ll join them later in the week and next Saturday, Elle will have her traditional summer party with friends from all over the place.

Igår gick vi en sväng genom Möllefestivalen. Organiserad kaos skulle man kunna säga. Det kändes snarare som en stor loppmarknad än en festival. Vi gick en runda i Folkets Park – ett ställe som är både k-märkt och rivningsfärdigt. Tänk om Percy & Co hade fått för sig att bygga något riktig fräckt och fräscht där, istället för uti Hyllievischan…

Om en stund åker Elle och Charlotte för att vila upp sig några dagar på landet. Jag håller ställningarna här hemmavid och skall jobba en del över helgen. Kommer att vara skönt att vara ensam en tid – även om jag naturligtvis kommer att sakna tjejerna.

Hemresan gick osedvanligt smooth. Vi sov alla tre nästan hela tiden och känner oss inte alls så jetlaggade som vi brukar. Få se hur det är senare idag. Alltid skönt att komma hem – särskilt när vädret är som allra bäst.

Vi hade ju naturligtvis hoppats att allt skulle vara färdigbyggt och klart här i Flagghusen…men, det är ändå relativt tyst. Närmaste resa blir en tur till Maxi. Back to life, back to reality…

Sista dagen i Bangkok var extremt lugn. Vi åt en lång och gudomligt fräsch frukost vid floden och njöt av den vackra miljön. Sedan blev det ett par timmar sol och bad vid poolen och sedan lunch i vår “cabana”. Och eftersom vi fick checka ut vid 17:00 hade vi inte överdrivet bråttom ut ur rummet.

Innan vår långa flight till Kastrup passade jag på att få fotmassage, lite fotskrubbning och pedikyr på ett litet spa i kvarteret. Sedan blev det middag på hotellet innan en brutalt bekväm limo körde ut oss till flygplatsen. En härlig avslutning på en skön resa.

Efter att ha upplevt hur det är att vara gäst på många olika hotell runt om i Thailand (och i övriga världen) förstår jag nu varför Oriental har ett så förbaskat gott rykte. Hotellet står helt enkelt i en klass för sig på nästan alla plan. Och trots att man lätt skulle kunna tro det, är stämningen inte alls snorkig, snobbig eller stel. Snarare ytterst proffsig och framförallt är alla som jobbar på Oriental extremt gästvänliga – på ett behagligt thailändskt vis. Att fylla 45 (eller någon annan signifikant ålder) där är något jag varmt rekommenderar.

After breakfast, I headed into the Central World/Siam Paragon area. And when I returned, I had flowers, a cake and a tie clip waiting for me in the room – all gifts from the hotel. Very sweet. Particularly the cake. I have now had birthday lunch by the pool, a swim and a short rest in the room. In a few minutes, we’re heading off to achieve a new high on top of a very tall building…

Ended the day at one of Bangkok’s flashy rooftop restaurants where we spent a small fortune on mediocre food and Dunkin’ Donuts level service. Too sad. On the other hand, we’ve had plenty of awesome dinners during yet another fantastic stay in Asia.

6:35 – Woke up, showered, dressed, shot about 150 photos along the sois crossing Silom.
8:12 – Ate breakfast, two eggs (sunny side up) two strips of bacon, one mango, latte.
9:03 – Spoke with Charlotte and Elle in our room. Packed remaining things before heading out again.
9:48 – Got some decent shots from the roof of Tower Inn. Man, does that place need a face lift!
10:25 – Returned to Triple Two and checked out. Hotel provided complimentary limo service to…
11: 25 – The Oriental. Wow. Does customer service get any better than this? Will this place eclipse Amanpuri?
11:35 – Room with a river view. Awestruck. Very pampering. We have our own butleress.
12:30 – Shopping in the Oriental gift shop. Bought Charlotte a ring and me an apron. Present for father-in-law.
13:00 – Hit the gorgeous, Hollywood style pool (lots of shimmering mosaic). Yes, folks this is the life. More pampering by seemingly mind reading pool waiters. Ice water, cold towels and fresh fruit supplied in abundance.
14:22 – Ate a Greek salad and slurped on a smooth smoothie. Mmm.
14:45 – Relaxing. Snoozing. Snoring. A near comatose state.
15:34 – Swimning with Elle and Charlotte. Ice water war with Charlotte.
16:45 – Returned to room and regrouped for river excursion.
16:47 – Birthday cake is waiting, one day too early. Will it keep fresh? Minibar fridge is too small.
16:49 – Called butleress for assistance. Cake issue solved. The question is, will I get a new cake or the old one? Tomorrow I will know.
17:45 – Hired small boat and boatman for sunset tour of Chao Phraya and canals (khlongs).
19:30 – Ate a tasty dinner at the hotel’s a la carte restaurant, The Verandah. Topped it off with coffee and a few drops of Sambuca.
22:30 – Returned to the room to write this.
00:01 – 45 years old.

The Oriental Ferry for cross river adventures.

Nothing is spared to create a sun bathing, pool cooling, soul soothing atmosphere. I like.

Not sure what the guest/staff ratio is. But at the pool, you needn’t wait long for service.

We opted for a much smaller vessel that we didn’t have to share with any riffraff.

Today marks the birthday of my brother Tyko Blake Eskil Raboff who passed away early 2003. There are a lot of people that miss you bro.
