Yes, time flies when your having fun. And boy, have we had fun over the last ten years – seven of which we’ve shared with the love of our lives, Elle.

On this very day a decade ago, Charlotte and I were wed in Brunnby Church in Mölle-by-the-Sea. It was a mostly cloudy day and the rain poured during parts of it. A gospel choir welcomed guests in the church and about 100 people from all over the globe listened to the family’s priest Ola Stålnacke as he married us. I remember being unbelievably nervous – ready to faint at any moment. Somehow, I managed to stay upright and say yes at the right moment.

But what I remember most about that day and night was how beautiful Charlotte was in her wedding gown. Absolutely gorgeous. I also remember some of the speeches and even more so the relaxed atmosphere we shared with friends and family after dinner. For years afterward, wedding guests would tell us how much they enjoyed the party.

Charlotte and I are celebrating this auspicious day by taking a short trip to picturesque Österlen on Sweden’s east coast. We’re going to check into a nice hotell, eat a hopefully delicious dinner and just enjoy ourselves.

Tomorrow, I’ve got a photo assignment to document a beach wedding in the same area. An interesting and inspiring coincidence.

Our recipe for a decade of happy marriage? A friendship based on love, trust and respect. And supporting each other when time comes to undertake (and overcome) new challenges in life. Pretty simple, huh?
