Ho-ho-ho and a bottle of rum! Just about the only thing I brought with me from Guatemala was a bottle of 23 year old Zapaca rum. And since I am feeling seriously under the weather – which can be pretty hard to accomplish in this country – I helped myself to a generous gulp along with dinner (the fish).

Most folks think of Bacardi and Malibu or a Pina Colada when rum is mentioned. However, the really good stuff is just as flavourful (and addictive) as say, a good cognac or seasoned whisky. I told Elle that its like medicine for grownups. Tomorrow I’ll know how effective Dr Hansi’s prescription was….

Efter mer än tio år i Malmö, premiärhandlade jag imorse i en av fiskebodarna vid Slottsparken. Kul att munhuggas en stund med feskegubbarna och jag är övertygad om att flundrafiléerna jag köpte kommer att smaka fint. Har ingen som helst förklaring till varför det dröjt så länge med att handla där. Varje gång jag cyklat förbi har jag tänkt, “nästa gång…”. Eftersom vi aldrig äter fryst fisk, skall vi börja utnyttja fiskebodarnas fina firror.
