Häromveckan var jag på besök på ett mindre skrotupplag. Där hittade jag den här kranen som fick mig att associera till någon slags brutal dinosaurie. Vet inte riktigt vad den gjorde – men, det såg mest ut som om kranen användes för att flytta skrothögar fram och tillbaka. Hade ju varit kul att sätta sig bakom spakarna och lyfta lite skrot.

Its white, bright and shiny and far better than the usual gray winter weather down here in southern Sweden. But if you ask me, I am getting a little tired of the massive amounts of snow and hope that it will soon melt and make way for an extremely early (and warm) spring.

Idag sätter jag igång med den femte boken i serien om Västra Hamnen. Första utkastet till innehållet skall tas fram i ett redaktionsmöte idag tillsammans med en samarbetspartner. Målet är att boken skall finnas klar i början av april – vilket innebär att produktionstiden blir förhållandevis kort. En ny spännande bokresa har börjat med andra ord.

I’ve just delivered a nice chunk of images and writings to my editor for  an upcoming reportage on Iceland. Its been almost 6 months since I was there and I had to immerse myself in notes, photos and blog posts I wrote while there to be able to fully convey all of the wonderful experiences from the visit.

After what looked like another gray day, the sun fought its way up and we’re now looking forward to a gorgeous chilly but sunnyday. This is what it looked like when Palma and I walked to work this morning. With all the snow we have now, it looks almost like we live somewhere up in Lappland.

Idag är det riktigt fint måndagsväder om man gillar när allt går i gråskala. Vädret får det att kännas som om man befinner sig mitt i en melodramatisk Bergmanrulle, typ som vinterversionen av Det sjunde inseglet.

Aside from being unusually bright and relatively clean-looking, with this much snow, Copenhagen is almost weirdly quiet. Its time to go home after our short, yet energizing trip to Denmark.

I captured this backlit factory (or whatever it is) just as the train was pulling into Copenhagen central station.  After a closer look and some post production work on it, I found that hidden in the haze was some really gorgeous, almost fluid colors that looked like they had been applied with broad brush strokes.

Elle’s grandparents are staying with us tonight while Charlotte and I spend the day and night in wonderful Copenhagen. I took this photo on one of last summer’s visits. The close proximity to the Danish capital is definitely one of the advantages of living in Malmö. The bridge makes visiting a no brainer – but I miss the old ferry service across the Öresund sound.

Idag kom nya numret av Galore Weekend där mingelbilder från galleriets utställning om New York finns med.

Utställningen var både en kreativ utmaning och en rejäl succé där 14 av mina alster såldes under de tre veckorna som den pågick.

Mina förhoppningar är att “Skrot” skall bli minst lika välbesökt.

Idag blev det en värmande, god och vacker lunch på Fair Trade och ekologiska krogen Salt & Brygga.

Idag är det strålande vackert – precis som det skall vara efter en snöstorm. Så här mycket snö har jag aldrig sett under snart 14 år i Malmö  Här ute i Västra Hamnen där det nästan alltid blåser från alla väderstreck samtidigt, ligger snön i halvhöga drivor. Mina tankar går till åren i Riksgränsen där man ibland blev helt insnöad och fick skotta snön utanför husfönstren för att överhuvudtaget kunna se ut.

Here I was hoping that we’d had enough of this freezing weather. But no, even more snow is needed to remind us of how far away we are from the spring. Is it just me, or is January the slowest month of the year? Still, I love when the landscape changes and now with ice on the ocean, the snow is creating interesting patterns to shoot. Like the one above on my way to the gallery this morning.

I went for an unusually cold run this morning (-7C/19F). The wind was gentle, the air dry. It was gorgeous and it felt as if I could of kept on running for another hour. The coastline is now frozen and creating beautiful patterns in the water.

I april blir det hundutställning på Galleri Västra Hamnen och jag har redan börjat samla på mig några kandidater som Palma och jag träffat på hundfältet. Vovvens personlighet och relationen till matte eller husse är viktiga ingredienser – liksom hundsort. Jobbar på inbjudan och borde kunna göra ett första utskick någon gång i slutet av veckan.

We took a long stroll into town today, through the park and the beautiful winter landscape. It was Palma’s very first visit into the city and she was noticably exhausted by all the new impressions. Still, I’m sure she enjoyed the excitment and all the buffet of smells encountered along the way.

Winters in Skåne would be so much more bearable if only the sun would shine once in a while…

Boy, am I looking forward to February. Not only because we finally can leave this cold month behind. Also because I am so looking forward to my new photo exhibit called “Junk” here at the gallery. Going through my images from Iceland, I found this image from our horse riding adventure. Not exactly sure how it was used, but it seems to be a relic from an old port in the area about two hours out of Reykjavik.
